Finding a great outing that everyone wants to attend can be a challenging task. There are so many variables and so many different tastes to accommodate. One thing we have learned is to always listen to what our residents want and we have learned from them is that they always love a picnic.
June’s Picnic was a little out of the ordinary. We began planning it because folks had joked with us about having an all-day scenic drive. We realized of course, that this might not be as fun as they thought and they probably wouldn’t enjoy hours and hours on the bus as much as they thought they would, so we compromised…
We planned a pleasant journey to the coast for a picnic! As it turned out, at home in the
Livermore Valley that day, the thermometer hit 110 degrees!! So the drive out to the ocean where it was in the mid 50’s was pure joy. The drive was picturesque and relaxing, followed by a delicious lunch prepared by our own chefs.
This trip has everyone asking when we will be going again. The answer is soon, although we may pick a different spot.
In the near future, we will be heading out to AT&T Park to see our World Champion Giants beat the Colorado Rockies (we hope). Also planned in July is a trip to the Jelly Belly Factory in Fairfield, lunch at the world famous McCormick & Schmick’s Seafood
Restaurant, formerly Spenger’s Fresh Fish Grotto, in Berkeley, CA, a visit to the Rosicrucian Egyptian Museum and Planetarium in San Jose and much much more.
Is there someplace you are really wanting to go? Please let us know! Many of our trips are planned our residents.
