Last month the residents and staff in The Gardens, our memory care neighborhood participated in a “The Longest Day” Awareness event. The event was held on June 21st to bring awareness to the Alzheimer’s Association®, and Alzheimer’s disease. People are encouraged to create an event and hold it annually on the summer solstice, the duration of this sunrise-to-sunset event symbolizes the challenging journey of those living with the disease and their caregivers. Our memory care residents, family, and staff participated in activities and wore purple all day to love to honor someone facing the disease.
